European Summer Outfits
If Euro summer is calling your name, it’s time to get vacay-ready. June through to August is prime time for Euro trips and if you and your crew are booked and ready, the next thing on your to-do list is outfit planning.
European summer fashion is better than ever in 2026. It’s playful, party-ready, and effortlessly chic. To save you some time (and stress) we’ve put together the ultimate guide on what to wear in Europe in summer.
What To Pack For European Summer
You’ve got limited space, so make EVERY item count. No packing the skirt you haven’t worn in 6 months because you might want to wear it out to dinner. Skip the maybes and opt for outfit essentials you know you’ll reach for. Here are a few key questions that will help you decide:
- Does the item match with more than one style in your suitcase?
- Can you see yourself wearing this item for more than one day or one occasion? Eg. dinner, sightseeing, adventuring.
- Is it summer-friendly? Always choose the more breathable, lightweight option. Linen is our current fave!
Tops For Europe
Versatile tops you can wear day-to-night will be a game changer when you’re rushing around Europe with a million things on your itinerary.
We’re loving playful shades like pink, lilac and blue, and trending prints like stripes and polka.
Dresses For Europe
Remember when we said to only pick essential pieces? It’s time to break the rules.
If you’re planning some iconic moments in locations that you might never see again, go all out. Colors like lemon and burgundy are standout this season, especially in flattering silhouettes like square necklines with tie-up details.
Bottoms for Europe
The best travel pants and bottoms are breathable, versatile, and fun.
Right now, we’re loving capris for chic everyday plans, neutral tie-up pants for effortless looks, and micro shorts for party moments.
Skirts for Europe
Skirts are one of the easiest ways to build multiple European summer outfits without overpacking. One good skirt = endless outfit combos.
Think lightweight midis, floaty fabrics and statement minis you can rotate with different tops. A silky midi works for daytime with a tank and sneakers, then instantly elevates for dinner with a fitted top and sandals. If you’re leaning playful, opt for asymmetrical hems, sheer layers, or subtle prints like paisley and polka dots.
Swimwear For Europe
Can’t leave for your Euro summer trip without swimwear and accessories!
If you plan to spend your days relaxing by the ocean in Greece or by the pool in Spain, you’ll be needing some super cute swimwear to get you through.
We’re loving eye-catching shades and prints this season, the brighter the better!
Shoes for Europe
The best shoes for Europe need to do two things: handle long days on your feet and still look elevated with every outfit.
Flat sandals or ballet flats are perfect for easy daytime styling, and pack one pair of dressier sandals or heels for dinners and nights out. If your itinerary includes cooler nights or cities, a lightweight boot can work, especially styled with minis or oversized layers.
European Summer Outfits Guide
Pro tip: map out your vacay suitcase based on which locations you’re visiting. While this might sound a little extra, this will make your life so much easier.
Picture this, you’ve just spent 3 days in Italy, you’re exhausted, you have an entire day scheduled for Greece and rummaging through your suitcase to find an outfit is the LAST thing you want to do. But then you remember, you have an outfit already set aside for this destination. Love this for you!
Greece Outfits
Deciding what to wear in Greece? Easy, coastal-inspired dresses are the vibe. Think flowy fabrics and versatile white styles. If you have a break from partying by the pool and need something casual for your day trips, a breathable blouse is a super cute option!
Italy Outfits
No doubt you’ll be spending some time wining and dining in Italy. For this destination, the vibe is effortless. Think statement prints, ruffles, and flattering necklines.
Spain Outfits
The place to indulge in the finer things. Spain-dressing is playful, fun and flirty. You’ll likely be spending your days enjoying tapas by the bar and taking a dip in the pool in between. A strapless mini is perf for this agenda!
South Of France Outfits
The ultimate cool girl destination. If the South of France is on your bucket list, make sure to pack something elevated and effortless. Feminine silhouettes, halter styles, and contrasting colors is a major yes for this location.
Portugal Outfits
Portugal is all about relaxed, feminine styling. Flowy skirts, linen sets, and breathable dresses are your go-to for warm coastal days. Lean into soft color palettes and subtle prints, like polka dot. For daytime exploring, pair a lightweight top with a midi skirt or relaxed shorts.
Packing Tips
We asked Char, Global Style Director, to give us her best tips on packing for Euro summer. Here’s what she said!
“I spent 4 weeks in Europe and there were a few things that made my life so much easier.
Before I left, I bought some packing cubes, which are little compartments that go in your suitcase to separate clothes. I didn’t have to rummage through my suitcase anytime I wanted something!
I also planned my outfits in advance (I use the notes app on my phone and take photos of everything so I have outfits ready to go when needed). Less is more, you don't need as much as you think you need - trust me, lugging a 25kg suitcase around Europe is not fun!
Pack pieces that go with multiple outfits (things that go together, so you have double the amount of fits).”
Summer Accessories for Europe
Accessories are the easiest way to elevate your European summer outfits without taking up space in your suitcase. Small pieces, big impact.
Think of accessories as your styling shortcut. A simple outfit can feel completely different just by switching your jewelry, adding a scarf, or changing your bag. This is especially key when you’re packing light but still want variety.
A lightweight scarf can double as a sarong, a top, or a cover-up. Sunglasses and hats aren’t just aesthetic, they’re essential! Right now, it’s all about statement details. Shell jewelry, resin bangles, and bold sunglasses instantly give that Euro summer energy.
Your European summer accessory checklist:
- Lightweight scarf or sarong
- Sunglasses
- Statement necklace (shell, stone, or bold chain)
- Everyday jewelry (simple gold or silver layers)
- A hat if you want extra sun protection on hot days!
Euro Summer Outfits FAQs
What are the best fabrics to stay cool in European summer?
The best fabrics for European summer are linen, cotton, and cotton blends. These are lightweight, breathable, and made for heat. They keep you cool and comfortable through long days of sightseeing. For evenings, opt for airy layers like chiffon or soft sheer fabrics that feel elevated but still light to wear.
How can I layer clothes for European summer weather?
Layering is key, especially with changing temps between day and night. Start with a breathable base like a tank or tee, then add a lightweight layer such as a linen shirt or open button-down. Finish with a light jacket or blazer if needed for evenings.
What shoes are comfortable for walking on cobblestones?
Comfort is everything when it comes to cobblestones. A pair of sneakers is your go-to for long days on your feet. Flat sandals or ballet flats work for warmer days, and a simple dressy sandal is perfect for nights out. Aim for styles that feel secure, minimal, and easy to walk in.
What are essential accessories for a European summer trip?
Focus on accessories that do more with less. A scarf doubles as a styling piece or cover-up, and sunglasses are a daily essential. Add a few jewelry staples and one statement piece to take your look from day to night without packing extra outfits.
When you build your suitcase around versatile pieces, breathable fabrics, and a clear sense of your itinerary, getting dressed becomes the easiest part of your trip. We can’t wait to see what you get up to in your Euro summer era!
